Canterbury Supports Our Residents

Canterbury is a not-for-profit community. That means profits are reinvested and go directly back into our community for the benefit of our residents.

The history of Canterbury began back in 1855, when Matilda Caniff bequeathed $1,500 to St. Paul’s Church in Detroit. While our name has changed over the years, our mission remains steadfast. We are a faith-based community, guided by a rich tradition of respect for people of all faiths to provide the highest quality of housing and health care for today’s and tomorrow’s seniors.
